I believe the claim APL\1130 was the first APL to be publicly available, before APL\360, is incorrect and comes from confusing 1130's initial implementation in 1967 with its release in 1968. The contributed program library documentation for APL\360 shows copyright 1968; I can't find a month but the Computer History Museum says "by August 1968". In contrast, "How We Got to APL\1130" says APL\1130 was "released to the public late in 1968", and the only version of 1130's contributed program document I can find says revised 5/5/69. I can't find any historical source saying 1130 was the first. So I'm removing this claim from the APL Wiki; I'll be on the lookout for any solid sources that say APL\360 was first. --Marshall (talk) 16:08, 5 May 2020 (UTC)

:Falkoff's APL\360 History is the solid source I was looking for and says APL\1130 was first: it was released as a program product spring 1968, while APL\360 was released in August. Given that the 1969 source is probably more reliable, I think Breed's "late in 1968" statement is either mistaken or uses a different definition of "released". It's possible that he's referring to when the product was first shipped instead of when IBM started taking requests (I have no idea what the system for distributing type III programs looked like), but in that case we have no comparable time for APL\360. --Marshall (talk) 08:04, 6 May 2020 (UTC)
