A language vendor is a company that develops and distributes a programming language.
Not all vendors have dedicated pages as they do not have significant involvement in the APL world. This is particularly true of early APL vendors, since in the mainframe era APL implementations were written in machine code for a particular architecture. Many hardware vendors implemented their own version of a dialect like APL.SV but did not contribute significantly to APL design. Vendors without dedicated pages include:
- Burroughs Corporation
- Control Data Corporation (CDC)
- Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC)
- Data General
- Hewlett-Packard (HP): APL\3000
- Harris Computer Systems
- Siemens AG
- Xerox
- MicroAPL: APLX
- Sudley Place Software (Bob Smith): NARS2000
- APLNow (formerly APL2000): APL+Win
